Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Y2 smartphone in India. The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 is the successor of Redmi Y1. The handset will be available in three different colors – Dark Grey, Gold and Rose Gold. It will be available on Amazon India and Mi Store from 12th June 2018. The starting price of Xiaomi Redmi Y2 is Rs 9,999.
The Redmi Y2 features a 5.99-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It has 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256GB via microSD card slot) .
The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 comes with 12MP + 5MP dual rear-facing cameras. On the front, it has a 16MP (f/2.0) front camera with LED flash. The Face Unlock feature is also present in this device. The phone runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo and has a 3080 mAh battery. The fingerprint sensor is placed at the back of the device. It supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM Radio, GPS, etc.
The 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM variant of Xiaomi Redmi Y2 is priced at Rs 9,999 and the model with 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM costs Rs 12,999. The smartphone will be available exclusively on Mi.com and Amazon India from June 12.
