Samsung Galaxy A8s Launched with Infinity-O Display in China: Specs, Price & Availability

Samsung has officially launched the new Galaxy A8s smartphone in China. The all-new Samsung Galaxy A8s comes with an Infinity-O Display which means there’s an in-display camera. According to the company, the camera hole on Galaxy A8s is 6.7mm in size. This design looks like Honor’s upcoming phone named Honor View 20 or V20. The Galaxy A8s has metal & glass design, packs three cameras at the rear, and lacks 3.5mm headphone jack. The recently launchedSamsung Galaxy A9has four rear-facing cameras.

The Samsung Galaxy A8s will be available in three different colors – blue, gray, and green. The pre-order for this phone will begin from 21st December 2018 in China. Currently, there are no details regarding the price of this phone. The price will be revealed very soon.

The Galaxy A8s is just 7.4mm thick. The back panel of the device is made of glass. The handset looks premium and the camera hole on the front enhances its beauty.

The Samsung Galaxy A8s features a 6-inch Full HD+ display with an in-display camera, 19:5:9 aspect ratio, 2.5D curved glass, and a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor along with the Adreno 616 GPU. It comes with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage. The internal storage is expandable up to 512GB via microSD card.

In terms of camera, the Galaxy A8s features 20MP + 10MP + 5MP triple rear-facing cameras with an LED flash. The 20MP sensor is the main camera with f/1.7 aperture, the 10MP sensor is the telephoto lens which has an aperture of f/2.4 for 2X optical zoom, and last 5MP sensor is the depth camera.

On the front, the phone has a 24MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. This front-facing camera is present at the left corner of the display.

Samsung Galaxy A8s runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with Samsung Experience UI 9.5 on top. It comes with a 3400 mAh battery which supports fast charging. The fingerprint scanner is placed at the back.

For network & connectivity, the device has Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth v5, VHT80, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C port, NFC, etc. There’s no 3.5mm headphone jack on this phone. So, it’s Samsung’s first smartphone without a 3.5mm headphone jack. At the bottom, there are speaker grills and a USB type – C port.
